Our Ranking Methodology
Our rankings were determined by our proprietary formula. Our formula takes two statistics from each school: yearly tuition rate and graduation rate. The public schools on this list (many of which charge differing rates for resident and non-resident students) only had their resident tuition rate counted. Our formula takes the school’s tuition rate and adds a multiplier that is equivalent to the percentage of students who enrolled but did not graduate. Example: ABC State College has a yearly tuition rate of $20,000 and a graduation rate of 50%. Its rating would be 30,000 (20,000 x 150%). Lower ratings are desirable when using our formula.
