Truett McConnell University offers 52 areas of study and 100% of freshmen receive financial aid.  With 18 sports teams, the school is a member of the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference.  Affiliated with the Baptist church, students can find a Christ centered education with many programs, activities, intramural sports, and community groups, it is easy to feel connected with the school community.  It is also relatively easy to get into Truett McConnell, with a 93% acceptance rate.

Luther Rice College and Seminary offers a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a major in Biblical Studies.  Minors include biblical counseling, Christian worldview, and ministry.  Graduate degree programs and seminary degree programs are also available.  With a student population made of 72% males and 28% females, many who are enrolled also work full-time jobs and have a family. Resident housing is not available.  This school has an 81.8% rate of job placement after graduation.

A leading research university, Emory University also includes Emory Healthcare, the most comprehensive health system in Georgia.  The school awards nearly equal amounts of undergraduate and graduate degrees each year.  It is competitive to get into Emory University, with only about 4,500 of 30,000 applicants being admitted.  The school is a part of the NCAA Division III and has 19 sports teams.  There are hundreds of student groups and the school strives to provide a diverse and inclusive campus

A family environment is offered at Brewton-Parker College, which was founded in 1904.  There are a large number of student organizations to get involved with and a variety of programs of study available.  The school has 16 athletic teams and has a student-teacher ratio of 18:1.  The campus is lovely and the school is affiliated with the Baptist faith.  Only undergraduate programs are available here and the school has a high acceptance rate.

With an Evangelical, Pentecostal foundation, Emmanuel College is a member of the NCAA Division II and has 29 intercollegiate athletic teams.  The student to teacher ratio is 15:1 and there is housing for up to 600 students on campus.  Degree programs are divided into the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Ministries, and School of Education.  There are many clubs and organizations on campus and the school has a rich history, dating back to 1919.

There are five major schools at Georgia Central University, which include the School of Business Management, School of Christianity, School of Computer Science, School of Divinity, and School of Music.  These schools offer one associate’s, four bachelor’s, five master’s, and three doctorate programs.  This school is very small and a member of the Association of Theological Schools.

There are more than 75 majors and minors offered in four different schools at Toccoa Falls College.  With 47 full time faculty, the student to faculty ratio is 15:1.  The campus is full of history, spans 1,100 acres, borders the Chattahoochee National Forest, and includes the breathtaking Toccoa Falls.  This waterfall is 186 feet high and a focal point of the campus.   Toccoa Falls College is affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.  Popular majors include business, counseling psychology, and biblical studies.

One of the biggest draws of Reinhardt University is the location.  The school’s 525 acre campus includes hiking and biking trails, ponds, Lake Mullenix, and lovely trees.  Students can get to both the mountains and the city easily.  Reinhardt offers a 13:1 student to faculty ratio, 23 athletic teams, and more than 40 clubs and organizations.  There are more than 40 programs of study, with the most popular areas of study being business, criminal justice and safety studies, and healthcare management.

A Methodist school, Paine College was founded in 1882.  Students can choose from a total of 16 majors within two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.  The school has an active choir that goes on tour, as well as residence halls and a rich campus life with many clubs and organizations.  It is fairly competitive to get into Paine College and popular majors include business, English, and history.  The student to faculty ratio is 10:1 and the small class size offers personalized instruction.

Offering bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, and doctoral degrees, Clark Atlanta University was established in 1988.  This school was formed when Atlanta University, established in 1865, and Clark College, established in 1869, consolidated.  Both had a part in the history of the education of African-American students.  This school currently offers 40 major areas of study and the majority of students are female. Most students, 58%, come from out of state, with 39% coming from Georgia and 3% being International students.

A Christian, liberal arts, education is offered at Covenant College.  The student to faculty ratio is 13:1 and the average class size is 18.  With 83% of students living on campus, it is easy to meet others.  Students come from 42 states and 29 countries to study here and 99% of students receive financial aid.  There are more than 25 student organizations and 13 athletic teams available at Covenant College.  Popular majors include economics, biology, and elementary education.

Founded in 1831, LaGrange College is the oldest private college in Georgia.  The school is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and the average class size is 12 students.  There are more than 70 academic and pre-professional programs offered here and more than 50 clubs and organizations available to students.  LaGrange is a member of NCAA Division III and has 18 athletic programs, including football.  The school accepts about half of the students who apply and the most popular majors are nursing, kinesiology and exercise science, and business.

Students can choose from more than 80 associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree programs offered at Point University.  There are 19 athletic teams that participate in NAIA sports.  Admission is fairly competitive, with the school accepting about half of applicants.  Popular majors include theological and ministerial studies, psychology, and business.  There are many ways to get involved on campus, including intramural sports, performing arts, ministry opportunities, student government, and other clubs.

Students come from all over to attend Piedmont College.  The average class size is 12 and there are 19 intercollegiate sports teams available.  About 96% of students receive financial aid and on campus housing provides a rich college experience.  Students can study arts and sciences, business, nursing and health sciences, or education.  The Demorest campus offers many nearby natural adventures and the Athens campus offers an urban setting.

A women’s college founded in 1889, Agnes Scott College is an award winning liberal arts school affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.  Students can take advantage of the signature SUMMIT experience that focuses on global learning and leadership.  With a student to faculty ratio of 10:1, this school strives to offer a personalized experience.  Offering 34 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate programs, popular majors include psychology, business, and neuroscience and neurobiology.

Founded in 1873, Shorter University started out as a school only for women.  Now, both men and women attend.  The school is a member of NCAA Division II and is affiliated with the Baptist faith.  Approximately 99% of students receive financial aid and there are bachelor, graduate, and pre-professional programs available.  The most popular majors include business, liberal arts and humanities, and criminal justice and safety.  Acceptance is fairly competitive, with the school accepting just over half of applicants.

Carver College offers majors in biblical studies, business administration, and psychology.  There are also seven minors of concentration.  The student to faculty ratio is 10:1.  This is a very small school that offers regular chapel services.  The ratio of men to women who attend is 75 percent to 25 percent.  The school has a men’s and women’s basketball team as well as a variety of organizations to get involved with.  There are also opportunities to serve on missions projects over the summer.

A women’s college founded in 1836, Wesleyan College was the first college in the world that was chartered to grant degrees to women.  Most traditional students live on campus and the school offers NCAA Division III athletic teams in volleyball, basketball, tennis, cross country, softball, and soccer.  Students come from all over the Unites States and 20 countries.  Students can choose from undergraduate degrees in 23 major and 30 minor academic programs.  Pre-professional and graduate studies are also available.

Beulah Heights University offers degrees that focus on ministry or are for those who plan to go into corporate/professional environments.  A protestant school, which is affiliated with the Interdenominational faith, Beulah Heights is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools.  Bachelor degrees are available in leadership, religion, and business administration.  Master of Arts in leadership, religious studies, business administration, and divinity are offered.  Doctorate programs are also available.

Young Harris College is affiliated with the United Methodist faith and is located in the mountains of northern Georgia.  The school was founded in 1886 and has a campus full of amenities such as a climbing tower, disc golf course, hiking trails, a low ropes course, and an indoor track.  The student to faculty ratio is 11:1 and the average class size is 18.  Popular majors include business, biology, and psychology.  The acceptance rate is fairly competitive at 63%.

With the average class size being less than 15 students, Andrew College is the first school in the nation to offer women the chance to enroll in a physical education program.  This school is also known for athletics, with 55% of students participating in intercollegiate sports.  Andrew College was founded in 1854 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  With the majority of students seeking Associate Degrees, top majors are nursing, business, athletic training, and health science.  Many students transfer out to complete their four-year degrees.
