Our rankings are determined by ratings from our proprietary formula. Our formula takes each institution’s graduation rate and yearly tuition rate into account. Several of the institutions on this list are public institutions with different rates for resident and non-resident students. We only took the resident rate into account for these programs. Our formula takes the applicable tuition rate and adds a multiplier that is equal to the percentage of students who matriculated but did not graduate from the institution. Here’s an example: ABC University has a tuition rate of $15,000 and a graduation rate of 80%. Its rating would be 18,000 (15,000 x 120%). Lower ratings are desirable and result in better rankings.
