Our Ranking Methodology
We ranked the schools on this list with a simple formula. Our formula takes two vital statistics (yearly tuition rate and graduation rate) and comes up with a rating for each school. Some of the schools on this list have different tuition rates for resident and non-resident students. We only considered the resident tuition rates for these schools. The formula takes the tuition rate and adds a multiplier that is equivalent to the percentage of students who didn’t graduate. This is an example of how it works: College A has a yearly tuition rate of $40,000 and a graduation rate of 80%. Its rating would be 48,000 (40,000 x 120%). The institutions are ranked from the lowest rating to the highest rating, as a low rating is actually good.
