Our Ranking Methodology
Our rankings are based on ratings from our proprietary formula. Our formula takes each school’s yearly tuition rate and graduation rate and combines them to come up with this rating. More specifically, our formula takes the school’s yearly tuition rate and adds a multiplier that is equivalent to the percentage of students who enrolled at the school but did not end up graduating. If the school has different tuition rates, we only looked at the resident tuition rate, not the non-resident rate. Here’s an example of how our formula works: ABC University has a yearly tuition rate of $40,000 and a graduation rate of 50%. Its rating would be 60,000 (40,000 x 150%). Our list ranks schools from the institution with the lowest rating to the institution with the highest rating, as low ratings are positive in our system.
